Calling teen artists!
The Young Friends of the Page-Walker invite teens ages 13 to 18 to paint, draw or sketch their inspired impression of Cary's historic railroad hotel that now serves as Cary's Page-Walker Arts & History Center.

Plan to arrive at 1:00 on October 6 to meet the other artists and to get a tour of the historic railroad hotel and gardens. Then set up your easel and capture your inspiration using the medium of your choice! We welcome photographers to photograph the event, but please, no official photography entries. Be sure to bring all the supplies you need, including easel, stool/chair, brushes, paint, canvas (minimum size 8 x 10, maximum 18 x 24), etc. We will supply water and light snacks, but feel free to bring your own food and beverage. You'll have till 5:00 to complete your work, and must leave your finished piece at the Page-Walker at that time.
A reception will be held Sunday, October 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. celebrating the works of all of the participating artists. At the reception, a $100 cash prize will be awarded to the best-in-show entry, determined by a panel of judges. Five $50 judges' choice cash awards will also be awarded. The best-in-show entry will stay on display at the Page-Walker through the end of the year. All other artists can take their work home after the reception. Please invite your friends and family to the reception, which will be from 4:00 to 5:00 in the main gallery of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center.
