Winter Concert Series - Symphony Spotlight featuring Erik Dyke

  • 20 Jan 2019
  • 4:00 PM
  • Page-Walker Arts & History Center, Main Gallery

Join Erik Dyke, double bassist for the N.C. Symphony since 1978, for a wonderful afternoon performance that spotlights the exceptional talents of those who contribute to great symphony and popular music.

Erik will be joined by his friends David Meyer; cello, Georgia Schmidt; violin, Carol Ingbretsen; soprano; and Brad Hunnicutt; piano.  Among other selections, they'll have a Vivaldi Concerto for 2 cellos, some Rachmaninov, and a Piazzolla Tango; and are hoping to have a Puccini Aria and something by Cole Porter, too.  And there will be a surprise ensemble to conclude the program with a Beatles medley and a famous Russian Folk Song!

This is sure to be a special concert in the acoustically advantaged Main Gallery of the Page-Walker.

Light refreshments served at intermission.
