Historic Preservation Program: African-American History Harvest

  • 24 Sep 2017
  • 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Cary First Christian Church, 1109 Evans Rd., Cary

Discover how to find your African-American family roots and share some local history at the first History Harvest.  If you have ever tried to research your family’s African-American past and ran into obstacles, learn why and how best to overcome those challenges. You are also invited to add to the understanding of our community’s rich African- American heritage by sharing your family photographs, small memorabilia, and stories about growing up in Cary. Trained staff and volunteers will be on hand to record your stories and scan photos. There will also be resources on how to care for and protect your family treasures.
