Preservation Speaker Series - Civil Rights in Cary

  • 26 Feb 2019
  • 7:30 PM
  • Page-Walker Arts & History Center, Main Gallery

The Friends of the Page-Walker’s presentation of the first of our preservation committee’s series entitled “Places of Faith,” scheduled for February 26, is cancelled as the result of the sudden and sad death of our friend, Bob Warner, the church historian for the First United Methodist Church-Cary. In celebration of Black History month in February, Peggy Van Scoyoc will present her program about the history of civil rights in Cary. Based on her book Desegregating Cary, Peggy, through her impressive collection of local oral histories, will share in vivid detail Cary’s role in the desegregation of schools in the South.

This program is free and open to the public.
